'Society: An Impersonated Self'
Is it the society we should dream to change or is the society a mere reflection of the very self, one views everyday in the mirror?
I was raised with a very deep sense of realism where I was often reminded that not everyone is destined for greatness. There is only one Neil Armstrong and one Edmund Hillary for a thousand nameless individuals who died trying. But, every one of the thousand who tried, died wiser.
Though great words of encouragement, it indeed negotiates with the idea of failure. The flip side of the coin would always resonate an ideal prospect. Does life always give a second chance? Well, let's trust fate with it.
When I was a teenager, I was once taken to a planetarium and was told that the universe is much bigger than the Milky way we live in. As kids, we are often bombarded with facts about life, society, science and philosophy. Are we in the right state of mind to imbibe and understand their relevance at that time? Well, the right age for it is the million dollar question.
So, what makes the society the way it is? Is it the people who live a particular kind of life or the collective mindset that is a result of it's lifestyle?
Is it the education one receives or the ethics and morals one inculcates throughout a lifetime?
To answer these constant nagging queries, it is a culmination of all the factors and phenomena of nature. It is said that, a person doesn't possess control even over his birth, let alone life. Life is always influenced by the surroundings it is exposed to. Unfortunately, it is a vicious cycle of change. The lesser we learn, the deeper we sink into the quicksand of confusions.
Does life provide answers to all the questions society poses? I wish it was that simple. It is the collective conscience that makes a healthy society. A sense of belongingness is what gives it perspective and constant perseverance is what gives it a notion of continued existence.
A man is bound to fail in certain ventures of life. It is the ability to dust off disappointments and move on that forms the foundation of a progressive society.
Education is tenaciously subjective to the needs and will of its mentee. The smartness to observe and learn at every step is what makes a good student excel in life. It is this very approach that builds a strong core for a firm and just society.
So, is the society to be blamed for one's shortcomings or is it the one looking at the mirror?
